Research Interest :

My research interest and field of work is Cancer and Gene expression studies. I have analyzed the data pertaining to RNA - sequencing and my wet lab work includes establishment of different human cancer cell lines. I have worked on different human cancer cell lines (Breast cancer, Hepatic cancer, Prostate and Leukemia). My Doctoral thesis was focused on the screening of polyamines for their anticancer activity followed by deciphering their mechanism of action. To carry out the gene profiling studies, I have exploited various bio-informatics tools to delineate the mechanism of action of polyamines in various cancer cell lines. Bioactive components from natural products have emerged as potential drug candidates in designing novel therapies for cancers and other hyperproliferative diseases. Thymoquinone is an active component of oil extracted from Nigella sativa seeds which has potential for curing almost every cancer. Hence, I would like to explore the epigenetic mechanisms and role of thymoquinone at the genetic and nongenetic level which can help in designing an effective therapeutic regimen against cancer.
