Dr. Alex Rubén Huamán De La Cruz

Affiliation :
Universidad Peruana Union, Peru,Brazil

Biography :

With more than 5 years of experience in research and two years in the mining and textile industry. Studies completed of Ph.D. in Chemistry (analytical, instrumental, and environmental) and MSc degree in Metrology carried out at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), Brazil. Has a extensive experience in chemical analysis (gravimetry, volumetry and instrumental analysis) of different matrices (minerals, blood, rice, sediments, plants, water, seawater, particulate matter (PM), etc.). Broad knowledge in the validation of analytical methods by different techniques: classical and instrumental techniques. Wide knowledge of measurement uncertainty. Management, and control of equipment such as Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS), Inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), Spectrometry of absorption atomic (AAS), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) Spectroscopy, Energy Dispersive X-ray fluorescence EDXRF Spectrometry, and Ion Chromatography (CI). Management and control in the advanced level of different types of statistical programs and simulation programs such as R, Matlab, EPA PMF, ArcGIS, Phyton, HYSPLIT, Surfer Gold, Visual Basic, Power Builder, and C ++.

Research Interest :

I am broadly interested in environmental pollution with particular emphasis on particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), trace elements, gaseous pollutants (CO, CO2, NOx, SOx, etc), water soluble ions, biomonitoring studies and meteorology data. In particular, my future research interest are shaped by the emerging trend towards to use chemometrics tools to predict or modelled the behaviour/concentration of the pollutants, to assess and clearly interpret the results. Furthermore, I am a researcher with broad knowledge in management of different instrumental techniques (ICP-MS, ICO-OES, IC, EDXRF, AAS, XRF, HPLC, TOC, etc) and with experience in management and control at advanced level of different types of statistical programs and simulation programs such as R, Matlab, EPA PMF, ArcGIS, Phyton, HYSPLIT, Surfer Gold, Visual Basic, Power Builder, and C++.
