Biography :
Dr. Zhi Dang is a Professor of the South China University of Technology. He received his M.S. in Analytical Geochemistry in 1988 and Ph.D. in Environmental Geochemistry in 1996 from the Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After postdoc training in the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), he joined Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a Research Fellow in 1998. Since 2000, he moved to South China University of Technology and became a Professor in Environmental Biogeochemistry and Pollution Control. The major focus of his research is biogeochemical cycling and toxicity of (in)organic pollutants in the environments, with a specific interest in the ore area and soil/sediment-water interface. Another main research area is the development of remediation technologies, including bioremediation, phytoremediation and soil washing/flushing, for the decontamination of (in)organic-polluted environments. The interaction between rock and water is also part of his research interests.
Research Interest :
Biogeochemical cycle and toxicity of (in)organic pollutants in the environments, especially in the ore area and soil/sediment-water interface 2. Remediation of (in)organic-contaminated environments 3. Rock-water interactions
