Biography :

My biomedical research training has provided me with a broad scientific foundation for the proposed research. I am currently a Research Scientist in the Department of Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh. I have committed myself to elucidate the antigen discovery in autoimmune diseases, cancers, and SARS-CoV2 infection using experimental and computational systems approaches. I have dedicated myself to researching cellular immune responses against various agents like pathogens, drugs, and diseases over the last ten years. I earned my Ph.D. in 2016 from Savitribai Phule Pune University, where I studied the innate and adaptive immune responses in hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection in Dr. Anuradha Tripathy's laboratory (Department of Hepatitis, National Institute of Virology, Pune). My dissertation research goal was to investigate the role of T regulatory cells (Treg) in HEV infection. I also worked in a private organization, Aurigene Discovery Technologies Ltd, Bangalore, India, in Immuno-oncology and Inflammation, wherein the project output led to clinical trials (https://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04207801 and https://www.curis.com/pipeline/ca170/).

Upon completing my Ph.D., I joined the laboratory of Dr. Christian Fernandez at the School of Pharmacy, the University of Pittsburgh, for postdoctoral training. My research focused on antileukemic drug asparaginase (ASNase)-induced adverse drug reactions. I identified the mechanism beyond the ASNase induce adverse reactions using a genetic and pharmacological model. I have 15 publications, nine of which are first-author and many conference presentations. I firmly believe that I have diverse backgrounds, skillsets, leadership skills, and scholarly productivity, which qualify me to serve as editor role on this journal, this will provide me a platform to apply my diverse skills towards a career as an independent investigator.

Research Interest :
