Biography :

A.C. Tangavelou is a dynamic and dedicated academician cum researcher specialized in the field of Biodiversity, Medicinal plants, Plant taxonomy, Phytochemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy with 10 years of research and 8 years of teaching experience. He has received a CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) award from Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi for Research. He has published about 31 research articles and authored 2 books on Mangrove plants, Sacred groves. He has discovered 2 plant taxa new to science, rediscovered one plant taxa from Western Ghats, reported one new record from India. He is also a member in several International societies and editorial board member in some peer-reviewed journals. Presently he is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Biology and Plant Biotechnology, Guru Nanak College (Autonomous), Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
