Graduated from Southern Medical University as a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2014, I went back to Mali and after completion of my internship, started working as an Junior Doctor in “Hopital du Mali”, a Hospital that has been built by the Chinese government as proof of the solid friendship between People’s Republic of China and Republic of Mali. In 2015, I came back to Southern Medical University and started my 3 year master degree program in the field of Ophthalmology under the supervision of Prof Bai Lang. Sight threatening eye diseases such as Glaucomas have attracted my interest as they can have a serious impact not only on the affected individual life, but also causes a heavy burden on their families and societes. My researches are mostly based on the roles played by genetic factors, inheritance pattern and the impact of positive family history in the development of glaucoma, and I envisage to further my investigations on the genetic basis of glaucoma to facilitate the identification of high risk individuals and help in the early detection and treatment of the disease.
